~Oh My Gosh...More Potty~
I'm still in shock...Meredith used the potty all day yesterday and only had one little bitty accident as she was running down the hall to the bathroom!
Wow, wow, wow...this is now 2 entire days in a row...I'm amazed!
I really shouldn't be amazed, she's smart as a whip and when she makes up her mind to do something...she does it...wowsie...this is fantastic!
I decided long ago that I wouldn't rush or try to force her to potty train and that when she was ready it would just happen. Given her temperament...I knew that when she decided to do it on her own, it would be really quick and thus far I think I'm right!

~More on the Potty~
We've had a couple of interesting days around here~
Mon-Thur Meredith used the potty about twice a day...on her own accord.
Yesterday, she used it all day long...every single time and didn't have any accidents.
I'm still in shock, is this for real? Is she potty training? Is it a fluke? Will it ever happen again?
She won't use her little potty, she must go in the big potty or forget it...LOL!
It will be interesting to see what happens today, wish us luck!

~Is it Potty Time?~
Oh my gosh, what an interesting week thus far. Meredith has actually used the potty four times this week...all on her own...no coaxing from me. I've about passed out each time.
She's very matter of fact about it, she just uses and a couple of times I didn't really even know it. She doesn't make a big deal of it but I sure as heck do...LOL! I'm hooping and hollering...woohooing all over the place...dancing like a nut and she gets so excited.
She loves to flush her tee-tee down the potty...she waves at it and says bye, bye tee-tee...oh, and she throws in some toilet paper too for good measure.
I'm wondering how long it's going to be before she's potty trained. I was so lucky with Josh, he was self-trained at about 18 months or so and she'll be three at the end of July.
Just another sign that my baby is growing up...sniff...sniff~
On another note, I've been buying and saving super cute panties for her since before she was born so she has tons just waiting for her to use!
Night, night...Princess, I Love You!

~Thankful Thursday~
I'm thankful for the sun, it warms me when it's cold outside and lifts my spirits when I'm down.
I'm thankful that Meredith has used the potty three times this week...wooohooo!
I'm thankful that the coaches work Josh hard during athletics, then he's too tired to be a "teenager" with me...LOL!
I'm thankful I get to stay at home, I think it's just as important during the teenage years as when they are little!

~Well Good Grief~
I knew I shouldn't have written about how wonderful Meredith had been his week...oy...I just know that jinxed me!
Yesterday was horrible, just horrible...a day I'd like to wipe from my memory!
Things started off bad and got worse, every single thing I told her *not* to do, she did!
I went to the bathroom to pee and what that takes about a minute or so...ha...well she's in the kitchen destructing! She poured all my oxi-clean on the cabinets, the floor and down the sink...told me she was helping me clean...so I cleaned up that mess.
I was trying to put her clean pj's away and she dumped ice tea on the floor...why she thinks she can hold, lift and carry a gallon jug of tea, I have no idea!
Ummmm...oh yes, she managed to pour 7-Up on the floor~
She likes to use her step stool now to get to whatever she'd like, so she thought it would be fun to feed almonds to the dogs...we get the big container at Sam's and now we have to get more. I'm surprised they didn't get sick! That's a short list of her antics yesterday.
When I told her to stop, her reply is that I hurt her feelings...well good grief, if she's telling me that at 2 1/2...what will she be like at 15...oy...I better start loading up on vitamins now so I can keep up with her.

~My Thankful List~
My plate runneth over with so many things that I'm thankful for!
Marc and I had lunch together ~~*alone*~~ today...loved it, loved talking with him, being with him, being able to actually listen and respond to complete sentences...sooooo nice!
Meredith has been a pure delight this week, even through all the mis-haps around the house. She loves to carry her stool with her everywhere now and climbs up to get whatever she wants. I'm thankful to be at home to see her carrying it and getting into everything!
I'm almost finished sorting stuff for ebay and will able to start listing very soon...woohoo! I can't wait to get this stuff outta here!
I'm thankful for both my online and offline friends!

1. Is your role model someone famous or not?
~Neither~
Who is your role model?
~No one really, I think of role models as positive people who did things right...I didn't have that~
2. Which is more important to you: Actions or words?
~Actions, baby!~
3. Do you forgive easily or hold a grudge?
~When I was younger, I held a grudge. After years of growing and maturing, I don't hold grudges anymore. Life is too short to waste my energy on that form of anger, and nothing positive ever seems to come from holding a grudge.~
4. What is the last lie you told?
~That I was too busy to talk on the phone~
What is the last lie someone told you?
~I own a clothing email loop and this woman told all of us that she was beaten by a pack of teenagers with baseball bats...I guess for the attention.~
5. Would you rather be with someone for the wrong reason or alone for the right reason?

~Woohoo, it Snowed~
Oh my gosh, when we woke up on Valentine's Day we woke up to 4.5 inches of snow...the prettiest, whitest, fluffiest snow I've ever seen here in the great state of *Texas*!
Josh and Meredith loved playing in it, Meredith had to take a few moments to look at it and decide if she wanted to get in it or not and once she did...she loved it!
We had a lovely Valentine's Day and hope you did too~ My dearest husband and the kids lavished me with lovely gifts, flowers and Marc even cooked breakfast.
In the almost nine years we've been married I don't remember him ever cooking breakfast before, yet he couldn't understand why I was leary of eating it. He made pancakes and it's really very ironic because just the day before I caught Meredith feeding the dogs dry pancake mix straight from the same box of mix he was using...LOL...she was sitting on the cabinet throwing pancake mix down by the handfuls for the dogs to eat...such a site to see...everything all covered and so much more to clean...oh well, she's just little once right! posted by Angie @ 2/16/2004 06:52:51 PM

Love is in the air...
1. Valentine's night: Alone or have a date?
With my family, dh...son and daughter...can't think of a better way to spend it!
2. Candy or flowers?
Both of course...ehem...Godiva!
3. Valentine's Day: Romantic day or stupid commercial day to sell Roses at insane prices?
A little of both, you can't deny in the incurable romantic in all of us and at least having a designated Valentine's Day helps the men remember to spoil us...hehe!
4. Would you stay with someone who you no longer want to be with just so you have a date on Valentine's Day or break up?
No~
5. What is your best Valentine's Day memory?
The first Valentine's Day that my dh sent me flowers, there's nothing like knowing you're getting flowers from your best friend and soul mate ;)

~My Cabinets Have Been Taken Over~
I remember when Josh was little and all the cabinets were full of sippy cups, plastic cups and lids, straws, little plastic plates with Scooby Doo, Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles and Barney on them and I also remember how happy and sad I was when it was time to get rid of them. A sign that my baby was growing up and no longer wanted those items.
As I was unloading the dishwasher today, I realized that many of my cabinets have once again been taken over by the same types of things only in girls characters this time...Disney Princesses, Strawberry Shortcake, Minnie Mouse, etc.
I was standing there looking in the cabinet where my glasses are and there's simply no rhyme or reason anymore...no organization, not full of just "pretty" glass glasses...instead...it's jammed packed with every kind of plastic cup you can imagine. Red, green, blue, minnie mouse, mickey mouse, restaurant kid cups, plastic cups from all kinds of sporting events...you name it, I bet I've got it...LOL! All of my pretty glasses are now up in the higher shelves in the cabinets.
As I was looking in the cabinet, I sighed and thought...I can't wait until I get my cabinets all nice and neat again and just as that thought went through my head...Meredith said, "Mommy, I need you". At that very moment I was jarred back to reality, thank goodness!
I'd much rather see Meredith climb up in the chair and see the absolute delight in her face when she's able to get a cup for herself instead of nice, neat, organized cabinets where she can't get anything out because something might break.
My memories of seeing her so happy when she's accomplished such a little task will last much longer than any nice, pretty glass.
Once again, my baby girl has blessed me with me just being herself and reminded me that it's ok to have a messy, unmatched cabinet...especially since I'll have these memories forever!
I Love You Meredith!
Love,
Mommy~

1. Cash, check or charge?
~Charge...love the rewards on credit cards~
2. Who or what do you spend most of your money on?
~Other than the normal bills, it's the kids...teenager and toddler...don't let anyone ever tell you it gets cheaper as they get older...;)
3. How often do you shop for yourself?
~Not often enough~
4. One television commercial says the average American has 14 credit cards... are you average, above average or below average?
~Below~
5. If you could take one paycheck and just have fun with it, what would you do?
~Let my husband loose at a Computer or Electronics store...he's such a sweet man, works hard and never asks for anything for himself~

~Will I Ever Get Caught Up?~
I sometimes wonder whether or not I'll ever get caught up. There are so many things I want to do especially with my website but there's never enough hours in the day. Throw in two kids, playing with Meredith, hanging with Josh, doing the laundry, cleaning, having a conversation with my dear husband, the two dogs and one cat...there's no hours left in a day.
Oh well, all things in due time...at this point in my life, playing and being with my kids are of the utmost important thing to me...so there...no more worrying about getting everything done...hehe...glad that's off my chest! posted by Angie @ 2/07/2004 11:01:45 PM

~This Last Week~
Wooo Howdy...this last week or two has been rough around the edges for all of us.
I haven't felt that well, Meredith had a sinus infection and hasn't felt well~
Josh has been well but his testosterone has kicked into super-high gear...sigh...I can't imagine what it will be like when Meredith hits puberty~
Marc has been working a lot of hours and that's always stressful~
We used to be very, very busy on the weekends. We'd go from daylight to dark and it always seemed that we were never home but that's really changed over the last year. We tend to stay home on Saturdays, since I'm a SAHM I do most errands during the week which frees up our weekends. Being at home together allows us the time we need to re-connect as a family and just "hang" together. Gosh, that's so important to do, and even more so as the kids get older...the time left with Josh at home is sooooo short now...sniff...sniff. posted by Angie @ 2/07/2004 07:20:01 AM

~The Importance of Your Back~
My back is something I really don't pay much attention to on any regular basis. It always works, no big problems, allows me to stand, sit, bend, pick up Meredith, pick up the paper towels that Oreo shreds...LOL...heck, it allows me to do a lot of cleaning, and it prolly wishes I would clean more.
Last week it went out...talk about painful...I could barely go from a sitting to standing position and when I did my legs would tremble...the pain...wowie...not fun.
I finally went to the doctor last Thursday and honestly, I've never been so happy to get a shot in my entire life. I hate needles of kind and especially if they are coming towards me...I'd almost rather have anything done than get a shot...until my back hurt so bad...did you say a shot would help, really, ok then...where do I bend over at...LOL!
He was right, it helped a lot and then I've been taking muscle relaxants and pain meds while it's continued to improve. Marc stayed home with me so that I could recoup faster...what a sweet man! Love you Honey! posted by Angie @ 2/04/2004 07:04:27 AM

1. I probably spend about 2 hours on the computer every day.
2. It always takes me 25 minutes to get ready in the morning.
3. I would rather go to the dentist than go to....I hate, hate, hate the dentist and would rather do anything than go there!
4. My favorite dessert is Creme Brulee
5. When I go to the store for one item, I always walk out with about 10 at least.
6. If the statement, 'You are what you eat' was true, I would be a salad.
7. I set my thermostat to 65 in the summer and 65 in the winter.
8. My favorite outdoor activity is used to be rollerblading but the knees don't allow it anymore.
9. My favorite indoor activity is playing with the kids.
10. When I'm feeling down, I usually whine to my dear husband.

~I've Been De-Railed~
Wow, what a week! My back went out on Tuesday, I kept putting off going to the doctor until Friday morning when I really couldn't move at all. I'm one of those people that would rather suffer than have a shot but not this time. He offered me a shot of Toradol and I ever so gladly said...give it to me! I had so much relief for about 6 hours or so...it was like being human again for a while. I'm now on vicoden and soma, they make me sleep, sleep and sleep some more!
Meredith went to the ENT on Thursday afternoon and she has an ear infection, started her on antiobiotics and they also took a culture to make sure she's on the correct antibiotic, since it's been a problem in the past. We sure don't want to end up doing another PICC Line at home for 21 days...ugh.
I'm so thankful for my husband and son, they have really stepped up to the plate and are helping me out so much. I don't know what I'd do without them...God has blessed me so much!
I love you both very much! posted by Angie @ 2/01/2004 02:02:01 PM
