Off My Behind & On My Feet ;)
The clock goes off at 6am and I know that I have to get up or I make everyone in the house late, late and later. Why does everyone revolve around me, I really pondered that this morning as I went about doing what I do the first hour of my day.
get up
wake Josh
turn kitchen tv to the news
start making coffee (made Marc so happy, I love to see him smile in the morning...cuz he's soooo not a morning person)
make sugar free kool aid stuff
make tea (we drank the entire gallon I made yesterday)
change out the laundry
make lunch for Josh
preheat oven
get cinnamon rolls in the oven
make lunch for Meredith (grill cheese)
prepare saline wash for josh
line out meds and nasal sprays for josh
ice the cinnamon rolls (woohoo, cooked just perfect!)
drink iced tea while josh eats and we chat for a bit about the days events
start dishwasher
add things to my shopping list
put away what I've gotten out
wipe down the cabinets
give them both big hugs and kisses
tell them I love them
tell them to have a good day
tell Josh I'll see him at marching practice
they are both out the door at 6:55
no more pondering, I know why now~

Man Arrested For Posing As Doctor
What in the world is wrong with this freak? Unbelievable? They showed his boss on the news last night and on the days that his boss was gone he would change the break room into an gyno exam room.
OMG, I can't even imagine! What a total FREAK!

Morning Everyone!
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!
Do ya ever just wake up happy!
No, I mean really happy...in the true sense of the word?
Happy that **You've** been been given another day to be with your family here on earth.
Happy that your breathing, alive, can hug and kiss your kids or heck...can argue with your kids...some people won't have that gift today so don't take it for granted!
Wishing you a happy day today!

Let's call this a carbohydrate day!
Carbs, carbs and more carbs~
Chips & Queso top my list at the moment...a nice big bowl of each and I'd be a happy gal. No chance of that happening which is just as well since I don't need either one of those things but doesn't it sound good to you too?
We could go somewhere and sit on the patio with a nice cold drink, chips, salsa, queso and just chat!
Ok, running to stadium practice~
Have a great evening and have some chips for me would ya baybee! posted by Angie @ 9/27/2004 05:23:34 PM |

Changing Things a Bit Round the Homeplace'
I've wanted to "stir" things up a bit around here for a while now but never took the time to do it until last night.
I've been leaning towards a cleaner less graphic intensive blog page for a while and this suits me just perfectly for the time being. No one really reads it anyway so I don't think the masses will care...hehe!
I'm worried about my friend Joanus, saying lots of prayers for you my friend and can't wait to hear that you're ok! posted by Angie @ 9/26/2004 08:47:41 AM |

Ahhhhhhh Welcome Beautiful Saturday!!!!!
Oh how we love the weekends!
It's exactly 7:39 am here and I can just see the glimmer of the sun peeking up over the horizon and starting to shine it's beautiful, magnificent self through window.
Josh is playing at the Fallfest here in town this morning which means he gets an extra free 100 as a test grade in band. Participtating in this activity is not required as the band director didn't want them gone 4 weekends in a row for band commitments.
Once he's done playing we are going to hang out for a while, visit the booths have a good time, laugh and play together...ya know...good family stuff!

Meredith and I are sitting here trying to wake up and recover from the game last night ;)
The kids did great even though they lost 17-10, I felt bad for them but they did play a great game and tried hard. It's difficult to be playing the first year of varsity against all the older established teams but they have to start somewhere just like all the other schools did.
I snapped this pic of Josh last night as he was walking into the stadium for call time, it's kinda like our life. He's entering a different phase of it all the time and we're always watching him...hoping we've raised him right...having to trust and rely on him and praying that he will come to us if he gets stuck and always making sure we are truly available for him and that he knows we are available.

I have exactly 30 minutes until I have to get Emme and I just got home from a super hectic morning!
Took Josh to the allergist this morning and yes, he needs allergy testing...no surprise there. Got to the scheduling desk and whipped out my trusty calendar and then the tennis match begin. The scheduler and I went back and forth and back and forth and Josh kept turning his head between us from one to the other and then back to the other...every time I said ok, Josh said..."No, Mom...Mr. Goodwin says it's stupid to have an appointment the day before a performance...ooooookkkkkkaaaaayyyyyy...and so it goes...on and on!
I went ahead and booked the appt on Oct 1 which really bothered Josh because they have a marching contest the next day but jeez...it's either that or wait until the week of the 18th and who wants to suck snot that long...Josh does!
We left went to the pharmacy there in the hospital and bought a saline wash kit he has to start using and then went out to the car...just as we shut the doors Josh said, "Oh No! We forgot to get a note!"
We get out of the car, go back through the parking garage, into the elevator, across the main lot, through the main lobby, into the elevator, up to the 5th floor, down the long hall and back into the docs office for that note that will allow him back into the school...they won't allow him back into the school without it even though I checked him out. While we were up there I decided to change the appointment and made it later thinking that it would be better if he only missed part of band that day instead of the entire band class...thinking I was doing a good thing...wrong!
Once we were back in the elevator in the parking garage he told me he'd rather miss the entire class than have to leave during class and hear any comments. Oooookkkkkaaaayyyyyy....now ya tell me!
My normal thing is well, I'm the mom and you have to go the doctor and that's that...end of discussion and yes, I did say that today but then I remembered just how important marching band is to him and just how much he truly loves it and I changed my stance a bit.
I offered this:
Josh...I know you love marching band and you don't want to miss anything so how about this. You show me that you can be compliant with your saline wash and nasal spray over the next several days to maintain some control over your allergies and I'll change that appointment to the week of the 18th?
He couldn't hide his shock and he was thrilled...I'm happy to try something different too!
ok, runnning to get the princess now! posted by Angie @ 9/23/2004 01:30:12 PM |

::What the heck is up with this crazy Texas heat?::
Good grief, it's approaching the end of September and we are using sunscreen and sweating our rears off every day...ugh!
The kids march today at 2 and I'm hoping everyone is ok because they all have on those navy blue shirts but thank goodness they are still wearing the parade uniforms so they get to wear khaki shorts instead of full uniforms to sweat to death in.
Ok, we are off...hope we win today...wish us luck!

How's everyone out there today?
I'm good~
We all got extra sleep last night since the entire household was in bed by 8:45...everyone was tired! Meredith is keeping up just great these days. She goes to MDO three days a week and then she has gymnastics once a week...it's enough to keep her plenty busy ;)
I've spent the morning cleaning in the kitchen and eating area. I don't know why so much junk gets piled on the bar but it does. I've run out of boxes to put garage sale stuff in so I'm going to have to get some more soon because I'm just stacking stuff up now and that's never a good thing. They might start asking why I'm getting rid of this or that...sigh...and I don't want to have to explain why...I just want the crap gone, out of here, good-bye...cya ;)

I've gotten so bad about keeping up with my blog and I'm not sure why. Yes, I'm busy but that's just life around here. I think it's because I don't have hardly any time on the computer anymore. I often think, oh...I need to blog this or blog that but then I end up choosing sleep over blogging. I know my family appreciates that choice as I get cranky with no sleep ;)
I've started doing some "fall" cleaning. I know it's really supposed to be "spring" cleaning but I figure anytime I really clean it's a great time. I'm going through the kitchen cabinets and if I haven't used it in a long while it's getting packed up for a garage sale.
I'm the type that will stick something in a cabinet and think I might need that someday...hahahaha...that's all great and good until you don't have anymore space in your cabinets.
I'm also going to have a new floor put in the kitchen but I can't do ceramic tile, my knees are just too bad and ceramic has no cushion or give at all. That's my next biggest project around here. posted by Angie @ 9/14/2004 06:54:29 AM |

Which way should I be looking? The days here are nuts, I'm telling you just nuts! I'm trying my very best to keep up with the daily commitments but I'm afraid I'm falling short and by the time Friday hits, I'm just behind and not likely to catch up.
Last night I just stopped everything and went to bed, I had to. There was nothing left of me to give to anyone.
As I was laying there trying to go to sleep, Josh was playing his mellophone for me and wanting me to focus on him and Meredith was doing front rollovers on the bed wanting me to focus on her...LOL...Marc is talking to me about something from the hallway and all I want to do is pass out...oy...I love my family but sometimes I need to sleep!

Hanna Andersson
If you love Hanna Andersson for your kids they have a new 20% off code right now.
http://www.hannaandersson.com
The code is 31W20.
I haven't purchased any new Hanna for this year yet because Mer mostly likes the playdress sets and all of hers still fit from last year.
Holler at me if you order anything and let me know what you got!

Remember my grumpy posts on bows!
I'm so excited! I found someone who makes wonderful bows and normal prices! She's been a true pleasure to work with and is so very, very nice!
I've already got about 6 sets of bows from her and love all of them...so does Meredith! posted by Angie @ 9/01/2004 07:50:33 AM |

I'm learning to like coffee.
Now that Meredith isn't able to have any carbonated beverages, I've also given them up. I've really discovered an entire new world of things to drink. I used to typically stick with water, iced tea and soda. Now, I've become a risk taker in the beverage world. Our supertarget has an isle that's labeled New Age Beverages and I never realized how many flavors of water and drinks they make now days. I'm trying them all, even the ones that don't sound all that wonderful to me on the off chance that I might like them.
Meredith is open to trying any new beverages so I tend to think that I should be more like her with less pre-conceived thoughts about how something will taste and just try it.
Actually, I think that we could all stand to learn a few things from our kids...to have less pre-conceived notions about things...lots of things. They see things from such open, innocent eyes and they will give things a chance. posted by Angie @ 9/01/2004 07:32:09 AM |
